Driver San Francisco is straight-up one of the most underrated open-world driving games out there. It takes the classic cop-vs-criminal car chase formula and cranks it up with a wild supernatural twist—Shift. You’re in the shoes (or, well, the coma-induced mind) of detective John Tanner, who can literally jump into any car on the road. One second, you’re tailing a suspect in a muscle car; the next, you’re a random taxi driver smashing into them for the takedown. The handling is pure arcade bliss—drifty, weighty, and ridiculously fun. Every chase feels like a high-speed Hollywood action scene, and the AI actually fights back, making pursuits intense.
With crime lord Charles Jericho now on the loose San Francisco faces a terrible threat. Only one man can stand against him. He has driven the streets of a hundred cities, spent his whole life putting criminals behind bars. But to take Jericho down, there can be no turning back, and he knows that this may very well be his last ride. His name is John Tanner. He is the Driver.
